Slimme Nieuwslezer getest tijdens de week van de alfabetisering

Tijdens de Week van de Alfabetisering wordt de de eerste versie van de Slimme Nieuwslezer voor Laaggeletterden getest in de Openbare Bibliotheek Amsterdam.
Dit innovatieve digitale product, dat automatisch nieuwsberichten op maat selecteert en deze berichten verrijkt met hulpbronnen en opdrachten, is daarmee nu ook door lezers met een lager taalniveau te gebruiken. De Slimme Nieuwslezer voor Laaggeletterden is ontwikkeld door Edia in samenwerking met experts op het gebied van laaggeletterdheid, de OBA, en cursisten van het Kenniscentrum Alfabetisering Nederlandssprekenden (KAN) in Amsterdam.
De nieuwslezer is mede mogelijk gemaakt door De Vereniging van Openbare Bibliotheken (VOB) en is daarom landelijk, binnen de muren van alle openbare bibliotheken, gratis te gebruiken in de strijd tegen laaggeletterdheid.

Digital Dutch Language Portfolio
Edia is currently developing a Digitaal Dutch Language Portfolio for CINOP. Coming September CINOP will setup a pilot for this environment. Early 2011, the product will be taken into production.
Sakai Commercial Affiliate Program
Recently, Edia became a member of the Sakai Foundation Commercial Affiliate Program. By joining this program Edia is supporting the Foundation's work, the development of Sakai, and to directly contribute to Open Source technological innovations for higher education.
